|the girls & dad|
A bride in white ...Roxy snowsuit & toque. A father - daughter snowboard / ski and then walk down the aisle of Powderfields Traverse at - what appeared to be - the edge of it all. Colorful friends - both in personality and unconventional wedding wardrobe - hedged in around them as powder snow lightly dusted blessings for their wedding on top of the world.
I had wished for clear skies. But when I expressed this to a stranger in the Red Mountain Resort lodge beforehand, he corrected me with his desire for cloud-cover and snow. A true skier's wish. And sure enough, snow came, lightly during the ceremony and then harder and faster as if building up to the crescendo of the day.
After a puffy-jacket, father-daughter embrace, bride Ali peeled back her goggles like a veil, smiling at Phil in a black pin-stripe ski-jacket. The officiant's degree in Snowboard Spirituality made him aptly suited for this mountain-top ceremony. There were dudes in colorful ties, friends smiling behind smart-phones, Skyping home countries.
(Ali originates from Australia and Phil from Great Britain. And when I review their captures, I can hear their accents in their imagery.)
Their vows were celebrated with a ski tunnel and Just Married signs for their group ski down. Stay tuned for more of Ali & Phil including their visit to Poochie's Cabin and Red Room Lounge reception.
