more canadian than canadians; kootenays family holiday photographer

A little hot cocoa, home-made soup, some axe-play and a whole lotta snow!  With their beards and their plaid and their beer, these Aussie's proved more Canadian than Canadians.
Their extended family photo session at Nancy Greene Lake was made such a success by some amazing pre-planning and thoughtful set-up.  Beth - the resident Rosslander - scoured the shops since summer, attempting to coordinate the outerwear of her visiting family of 13!
Her family shared her amazing attitude and helped make her vision of a Christmas-y winter wonderland a reality.  Some of the Australians headed to the lake early to break a path for the hike in, shovel the entrance to the cabin, build a cozy fire so the kids could keep warm and set the table with home-made treats.  And the weather responded in kind with a massive snow-storm the night before their session.
It was a beautiful sight to behold these distant Aunties, Uncles and Grand-parents connect with the kids and family as if they were never apart.  And they welcomed me into their tribe with their piping hot soup - heated on the wood-burning stove - and home-made biscuits.
Love cup filled!
Even after my departure, the party continued with ice-fishing and snow-packed memory-making.
