From mountains to ocean, I crossed the country to discover my artist crush from my own backyard.
Artist Sarah Burwash rides a motorbike, has been featured in my favorite Kinfolk magazine and creates art that speaks to me. While she is from my current mountain town of Rossland, BC, she now resides in Nova Scotia where I found her art in a little shop on a Halifax hillside.
Her work seems to narrate my latest Atlantic experience, weaving my children's tapestry and illustrating what looks like a family portrait of my children's lineage.
Quilting, weaving, sewing. While I'm not interested in the literal manifestations, I can't seem to get enough of the metaphorical. The connecting, the creating, the story-telling endlessly engage me.
More from my Atlantic adventures to follow.
